Insurance coverage

Every rental includes Third Party coverage. Full Risk is required, and added automatically, on rentals of 4 days or less and on any return after 6:00 PM. On other rentals you can upgrade to CDW+ or Full Risk.

You pay a $1,000 cash / $1,040 card deductible (includes the card surcharge), at fault or not. Covers only the other party's vehicle.
Accident: damage to your rental
Not covered. You're fully responsible.

Not covered. Charges start at $100, set by a TRAC representative.
Serious incidents: theft, joyriding, hit-and-run, total loss
Not covered. Costs start at $1,000. Theft starts at $3,000, unless you add Theft Protection.

A $500 deductible applies if you're at fault. Once it's paid, damage to both vehicles is covered. Fault can be confirmed by phone with the police or the insurer, and no written report is required.

Collision damage from a qualifying accident is covered once the deductible is paid. Minor and serious incidents are not covered.

Trac Car Rental does not accept third-party insurance (including Visa, MasterCard, or personal policies). Any protection from a customer's credit card or personal insurer is entirely independent and does not involve Trac Car Rental.

No plan covers personal injury, medical expenses, personal belongings, off-road driving (the dunes, beaches or Arikok National Park; it isn't permitted), or vehicle keys. Keys are covered only by the Key Protection extra; without it, key charges start at $450 and may be higher, plus the card surcharge if paid by card. Theft Protection (an extra with Third Party or CDW+) covers qualifying theft of the car; Full Risk already includes it.

After an accident, damage or loss, we provide only the signed initial rental agreement, the final rental and return receipt, and the Trac Car Rental damage invoice. No other documentation is provided.
